Paul wanted his EP to reflect the look and feel of John Coltrane’s album Stardust. To accomplish this I created a new “square” logo for the record label (Lightning Rod Records) and heavily edited the main photograph, all the while incorporating period type and the look and feel of a record that has lived another life by the time it’s in your hands.

Using an original drawing by the artist's daughter, I created text for the artist name and title based on the originals (each letter is custom-made). I added the left side border to mimic the Golden Books from childhood memory to reinforce the family-feel of this recording.
